Psychologist

As a Licensed Psychologist based in Dubai, Sharanya brings over seven years of experience working across diverse countries and clinical settings. She holds a Master’s degree in Developmental Psychopathology from the UK and Clinical Psychology from the US. Her primary therapeutic approach is Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), a skills-based and behavioral framework that balances acceptance and change. Sharanya also integrates Motivational Enhancement and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) interventions to support clients in navigating the complexities of behavioral change and achieving their therapeutic goals.

Her passion lies in minority mental health and the crucial task of adapting therapeutic practices to align with non-western cultural contexts. Her expertise encompasses a broad range of challenges, from clinically diagnosable mental health conditions, including depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma and stress-related disorders, personality disorders, and substance use disorders, to everyday struggles such as navigating life changes, feeling stuck, relationship challenges, and minority stress. With client consent, she also collaborates with families to create a supportive and therapeutic home environment.

In therapy, Sharanya views the relationship as a collaborative partnership. She believes that the therapist and client are teammates, working together to build a life that is meaningful and valuable to the client.
