Behavioural Health Specialist
As a Child and Adolescent Psychologist, Melek is a strong advocate for children’s rights and their protection. She approaches therapy from a client-centered perspective and tailors her therapeutic approach to fit the client’s needs.
Prior to moving to Dubai, she worked with the National Institute of Child Protection in Tunisia for several years. As an intern, research assistant, and child protection officer, she designed the first and only programme book to train foster families in Tunisia. Her book is currently being used by organisations in 12 regions globally.
She promotes public awareness about children’s needs and has presented on several radio channels. Melek also has experience conducting workshops for children, adolescents and adults, addressing various topics related to psychology and mental health.
Melek’s advocacy for child protection makes her a patient advocate psychologist. Her main expertise lies in working with children and adolescents between 4-18 years old, and with parents., She has gained 3 years of experience as clinical psychologist working with children, adolescents, parents, and the whole family, and has over 8 years’ experience in the mental health field.
Her work covers various psychological difficulties and backgrounds including neurotic disorders (depression, anxiety, panic attacks etc.), abuse, school and family adjustments, emotional and behavioral issues in school, home. She is currently undertaking a 2-year programme specialising in addiction (substance, behaviour).
